Responsibilities for the Accountant Job

  • Processing payment vouchers;
  • Preparing simple financial management reports;
  • Complying with financial processes procedures and regulations;
  • Carrying out data capture in the financial system;
  • Balancing cashbooks on daily basis;
  • Preparing customers and suppliers records for payment;
  • Filing and retrieving of accountable documents;
  • Issuing Withholding and Value Added Tax certificate to suppliers;
  • Submitting Withholding and Value Added Tax returns to Kenya Revenue Authority;
  • Monitoring expenditure based on approved budgets;
  • Evaluating and scrutinizing expenditure proposals; and
  • Monitoring expenditure on programmes on a periodic basis.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce (Accounting option); Commerce (Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • A Pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or Part II of the Association of
  • Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Be proficient in accounting packages; and Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
