Position is responsible for ensuring processing of claims is within the set guidelines and frame work and ensures cost effective processes are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare scheme by scheme and portfolio performance reports (loss ratios)
• Provide ongoing technical support to sales
• Collect and analyse data/information critical to decision making
• Perform risk assessment functions e.g. claims projections
• Liaise with the accountant on service provider payments
• Ensure timely processing as per SLA’s
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Claims Reports
• Liaise with other medical underwriters for purposes of market surveys and development of new controls, standards and products
• Prompt collection of claims paid out of policy liability
• Ensure Claims reinsurance is applied as per treaties agreed upon
• Liaise with service providers to ensure exclusions are availed at all service points
• Provide Performance reports upon renewal on scheme performance
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Key Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• Degree/ Diploma in Business related field or Diploma /Degree in Nursing
• 3 years insurance experience working in a medical claims department with at least 2 years in supervisory level
• Good progress in Professional qualification in Insurance (LOMA, ACII or AIIK) or enrolled for the same
• Dynamic, mature and self-driven leader
• Excellent analytical skills
• Good report writing skills
• Good technical and clinical skills
• Well versed with operations
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills
