Sales Agent Job Purpose in Kenya

To process applications by providing an end-to-end service, achieving sales targets. Sell and promote long and short term insurance contracts to existing and new clients whilst contributing to product owners and Contact Centres targets

Accountability: Long and Short term Sales
Action leads and meet sales targets by contacting clients that are on the encompass database.
Identify yourself to the customer i.e. name, surname, identify Barclays Bank and department i.e. short Term Insurance and follow the code of conduct.
Follow the FAIS process in providing the correct information concerning Credit Life & Top Up products
Log all leads on Encompass and complete tracking sheet for audit purposes.
Record daily sales on Excel Spreadsheet and close as a sale on Barclays Internal

System (Encompass)
Cross-sell by offering further assistance on other products
Meet percentage conversion ratio (Percentage of leads actioned and the number of sales made monthly)

Accountability: Client Experience
Delight client with excellent service and assist them efficiently by sending relevant documentation and attending to any queries or related issues they may have timeously.
Assist client at point of contact, if unable to assist refer clients to the correct channels
Offer all relevant and up to date information regarding the product offered to assist the client to make the most informed choice, such as explaining the types of cover that is offered and what the benefits and features are on the product.
Retain existing and attract new customers by providing customer service through living the Barclays values
Log all calls to enable trend analysis and provide feedback to team leaders on recurring issues.

Accountability: Risk and Compliance
Adhere to compliance, available on the Barclays Portal, by explaining the application process i.e. turnaround times and terms and conditions of granting product.
Supply customer with all relevant Barclays contact details in case of queries and or complaints Ensure logging on to the telephone system as set out in the predefined schedules.
If role holder is under supervision, they need to communicate this to clients as they cannot give any product advice.
Conduct authentication on clients by asking relevant questions before transacting with customers. This is conducted to prevent fraudulent behavior.
Disclose all costs and commission, to ensure all documentation received from clients is clear and in line with FICA
Requirements i.e. clear ID copy and proof of residence, and ensure that the “non face to face” FICA process is followed accordingly. This process is available on the Barclays Portal.

Diploma in any relevant field
2 years working experience preferably in life insurance

COP – Certificate of Proficiency
ACII – Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute
FLMI – Fellow of Life Management Institute
