Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)

Main purpose of job:

  • Store assistants will play part in ensuring the TWG and Estates’s success by fulfilling operational goals. He will be in charge of providing team with the requested information and advise them concerning acquisitions of maintenance materials.

Stores Assistant Job Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist stores manager in maintaining and running the TWG stores facility to ensure Health and safety rules are adhered to i.e general cleanliness, upkeep and orderly arrangement, equipment safety, ladders
  • Functions of warehousing in storage, distribution, handling, inventory planning and management (stock level control and record keeping)
  • Act as a link between the main office and the stores i.e receiving work requests, answering phone calls, emails and faxes, dispatching invoices and delivery notes to the main office and other official documents
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the supplier contact list
  • Assist store manager in ensuring the office machinery is functional i.e IT systems , phone and duly reporting any breakdown to the IT Team since the store is used as a backup office
  • Participate at regular meetings and report any unusual events or problems to directors
  • Receive and solve complaints about the services or products
  • Assist the Store Manager when filing in forms, returns, and control documents according to agreed control procedures
  • Understand and anticipate customer’s needs

Essential qualifications and experience for Stores Assistant Job

  • Work experience in stores management and inventory
  • Basic administration experience
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal
  • Computer literate
  • Must have High School education /Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
