Britam Job Vacancy : General Insurance Claims Analyst

Reporting to the Assistant Claims Manager, He/she shall be responsible for registering claims, review/assesment of the claims to determine the admissibility and quantum, payment processing of general insurance claims as per set service levels.

Key responsibilities;

    • Prompt registration and acknowledgement of new claims
    • Assessing policy details, terms and conditions to ascertain validity of claims
    • Prompt response to customer enquiries
    • Ensure that the claims data is inputed and captured in the system
    • Ensure that the claims service providers meet service levels
    • Payment of claims within the set service levels
    • Preparation of weekly reports
    • Initiate third party recoveries
    • Portfolio analysis and risk recommendation reporting to underwriting department
    • Attend to client queries on claims
    • Analyse claims supporting documents to establish liability
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications Required

    • Bachelors’ degree In Commerce (Insurance option)
    • 3-4 years’ experience in claims processing
    • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII or AIIK)
    • Knowledge and experience in the insurance sector
    • Knowledge of insurance concepts
    • Knowledge of general insurance claims processes and procedures
    • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements
    • Good analytical skills
