Business Link Solutions Accounts Officer Job


Business Link Solutions, an accounting consultancy firm based in Nairobi is looking to hire an Accounts Officer.

The Accounts Officer will primarily be responsible for assisting the Director in handling in handling, preparing, computing, managing, researching and analyzing accounting data in order to provide quantitative and qualitative information on performance, financial position, liquidity and cash flows to the firm’s clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in publishing financial statements in time
  • Conducting month-end and year-end close processes for client accounts
  • Collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information on behalf of the clients
  • Computing taxes and prepare tax returns on Itax
  • Preparing balance sheets, profit/loss statement etc for  clients as required
  • Developing periodic reports for management
  • Keeping up with financial policies, regulation and legislation
  • Researching, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
Administrative Tasks
  • Following office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Maintaining files and records with effective filing systems
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
  • Dealing with client complaints or issues
  • Coordinating and overseeing all office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • Managing agendas, appointments etc. for the Director and accompanying him if needed
  • Managing phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)
  • Any other relevant duties assigned
  • Any other duties which are in line with the position of an Accounts Officer
  • Degree / Diploma in relevant field
  • Possess CPA / KATC / ACCA part II
  • Knowledge in accounting software – Sage / Pastel / QuickBooks
  • Minimum of one year experience in a similar position
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Good time management skills
  • Assertive and proactive
  • Ability to generate reports and tabulate data
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
