Our Client, College of Insurance is a premier Education and Training institution for the insurance industry.
The College offer Certificate, Diploma and short management courses for the insurance industry and is fully accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.
The following vacancies have arisen and the College is seeking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the positions.
1. Board Secretary
This is a senior and exciting position whose purpose is to provide support to the board of Insurance Training and Education Trust (ITET) and the College management to ensure legal compliance with relevant laws.
The job holder is also expected to coordinate board meetings and support the chairman and trustees to undertake their various roles.
Desirable qualifications are a minimum of graduate or Masters Degree in Law and at least five years experience as a company secretary.
The job applicant must demonstrate knowledge and experience of coordinating board activities.
2. Head of Human Resource and Administration
This is a senior position whose overall purpose is to ensure the college attracts and retains quality workforce and to coordinate administrative activities.
The job holder will report to the Director/CEO and key roles will include coordination of HR activities such as: recruitment, staff appraisals, promotions, job rotations, staff productivity enhancement, staff
capacity building and reward management among others.
Additionally, the job holder is expected to ensure smooth functioning of the College by coordinating all administrative activities.
The desirable qualifications are: a graduate or Masters Degree in business or social studies with a specialization in Human resource management and experience of at least five years at senior management position in a human resource department.
The job holder must demonstrate knowledge of labor laws, excellent communication and interpersonal relations.
3. Head of Catering and House Keeping
This is an exciting position in the department of catering and housekeeping and the job holder is expected to facilitate the college to provide world class service to its clients.
The job holder will report to head of Finance and Corporate Services.
The key roles include effective management of the catering unit and housekeeping.
Key tasks include: strategic planning of the unit, management of people and other assets, marketing of services and management of the College facilities among others.
The desirable qualifications are: Graduate Degree in Hotel management and five years experience in a senior management position in a busy hotel or institution. Advanced degree in business related studies is an added advantage.
4. Procurement officer
This is a senior position in procurement unit.
The job holder is expected to prudently manage the procurement processes in the College and reports to the Director/CEO.
The incumbent is expected to plan and coordinate provision of goods and services to all the departments and units.
Some of the key tasks include: preparation of tender documents, evaluation of tenders, liaison with suppliers and coordination of delivery of services and goods by suppliers among others.
The desirable qualifications include: a Degree in Purchasing and Supplies and five years of experience in senior management position in a procurement function. A master’s degree in business related courses is an added advantage.
5. Test Developer
The job holder is expected to coordinate and manage examinations in the college to ensure best practices are adhered to.
The job holder reports to Head of Examinations in the College.
The main tasks include: coordination of test papers development, ensure effective administration of examinations in the College and liaise with relevant examination bodies.
The desirable qualifications include: a degree in education with a specialization in business related studies and ten years experience in teaching and handling of examinations in tertiary institutions.
A Masters degree preferably in Measurement and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
