We are seeking highly motivated, self-directed, team players to participate in an intense 12 weeks training and analyst work in project finance department. The position will afford successful individuals a unique opportunity to participate in the Cytonn Young Leaders Program. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to participate in our share ownership plan once confirmed as a staff.

Project Finance Internship Duties and Responsibilities & Areas of Learning

  • Work in collaboration with real estate research team to conduct investment opportunity analysis on potential deals,
  • Carrying out scenario and sensitivity analysis to advise the project managers on imminent risks and returns of the project,
  • Preparation of all project budgets, cash flow forecasts and detailed financial models,
  • Compilation of applications and documentation for submission to investors/financiers for funding of projects,
  • Monitoring of loan disbursements and servicing,
  • Liaising with finance division and project financiers for preparation of payment and ensuring that proper records of payments are maintained,
  • Regularly reconciling accounts from SPV accountants,
  • Updating of the project budgets, cash flow and returns,
  • Develop monthly/quarterly variance reporting on all project budgets for each project on a timely basis,
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned,
  • Reporting on weekly basis,

Qualifications for Project Finance Internships in Kenya

  • An undergraduate with a minimum qualification of a B+ in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE),
  • A graduate level student with a minimum of Second Class Upper Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable University,
  • An accounting or investment profession such as CPA/ACCA/CIFA and CFA level 1
  • Knowledge of investment analysis as far as determining risk and returns is concerned,
  • Excellent in advanced excel skills,
  • An understanding or interest in property markets & trends,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized and ability to meet strict deadlines,
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties with minimum supervision
  • Motivated to learn and take on new challenges,
  • Availability on a fulltime basis with high levels of energy, enthusiasm and ability to work long hours and under pressure,
