This role reports to the GDBS Director for Europe and Africa

Context/Scope:
The EABL business unit comprises of the following sub markets Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Tanzania. It’s a vibrant business with strength in beer and growth in Spirits.
The Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) function within Diageo delivers business and IS services that enable our business and our markets to focus on commercial excellence.
The role will focus on driving value, service excellence and brilliant user experience by leveraging the GDBS organization to deliver against the following goals:

* Drive competitive advantage in the market / Hub
* Deliver efficient and compliant services
* Provide a brilliant customer experience

This role will work with senior business and GDBS leaders to understand their strategy and define the GDBS strategy that supports and promotes the delivery of these strategies, underpinned by efficient IT processes and Infrastructure. This will require effective relationship management, understanding of business change and strong sensitivity to Stakeholders.

Purpose of role:
The role will drive the delivery of high quality, innovative, fit for purpose and cost effective technology and business solutions for the EABL business.

Ensure efficient, optimized and compliant processes, ensuring high quality of service from the shared service center; underpinned by reliable Infrastructure (Networks, Servers, email etc.)

Market Complexity:
This role requires strong understanding of the GDBS landscape, business process, end user technologies and strategy roadmaps. Multiple business entities make up the markets covered by this role, resulting in the need to manage multiple business stakeholders and priorities.

In addition, it will involve constant review of market / IS strategies and undertaking situational assessments to define appropriate focus areas and initiatives to enable the delivery of the performance promise.

It Involves engagement with stakeholders located over a wide geographical spread and managing teams remotely to deliver breakthrough performance.

Top Accountabilities:

Deliver efficient and reliable services

Responsibility for Stakeholder management at an Executive level in EABL and the submarkets. Understand and shape demand from EABL and the sub markets. Manage the quality of GDBS Services to ensure they align with the performance promise.
Work with the Global Architecture and Operations Team to introduce solutions that drive NSV growth, operating profit, and productivity and efficiency gains.

Financial Management

Correctly prioritize the GDBS project portfolio for EABL an drive cost savings by leveraging local and global Vendor relationships

Strategy and Business Relationship

Ensure the development, communication and implementation of the GDBS strategy for EABL in alignment with the business objectives.
Constantly gather feedback from the markets through structured and informal sessions with Stakeholders. Use insights gathered from these sessions to develop and drive actionable plans that increase employee satisfaction.
Work with the central GDBS teams to deliver world class performance.

Compliance & Controls

Work with Service Delivery Managers to ensure delivery of satisfactory compliance and controls environment

Talent & Capability

Grow and develop talent by provide coaching to direct reports and the wider team. Work with them to deliver robust development plans that focuses on growing the individual and making them future leaders for Diageo

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • 10+ years IT management in a multinational Organization.
  • Strong people management skills with ability to manage remote teams
