NAWASSCO is established as a Private Company Limited by Shares under the Companies Act (Chapter 486, Laws of Kenya) and is wholly owned by the County Government of Nakuru.
The objectives of the Company are broadly and extensively formulated in the Memorandum of Association with a wide range of activities directly related to or associated with the provision of water and sanitation services.
The Company invites applications to fill the following vacant positions:-

Human Resource and Administration Manager
Reporting to the Managing Director the Human Resource Manager will be responsible for
• formulating and regularly updating various Human Resource Policies including terms and conditions of service,
• planning, organizing, control of all administrative functions,
• ensuring effective implementation of all functions relating to manpower planning, welfare and human resource administration in the Company,
• implementation of the Human resource policies and procedures,
• participating in the recruitment, selection and placement activities,
• ensuring employees are properly oriented and
• providing effective guidance and supervision of staff.

The ideal candidate will
• possess Msc. in Human Resource Management with at least 5 years working experience 3 of which must be in Senior Management level in a busy HR department or Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or in a related field with at least 7 years working experience in a busy HR Department.
• Be a Person of high integrity and meet the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya.
• And must have the following desired skills and competencies:
1. Strong management and negotiation skills,
2. Computer skills,
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
4. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be a registered Member of IHRM.
Contract Terms: 3 years Renewable

Technical Manager
Reporting to the Managing Director, The Technical Manager shall be responsible for
• managing engineering works, electrical/mechanical equipment including supervising the design, plan and construction of new water projects.
• Certifying all engineering consultancy work as well as overseeing all activities of the technical department to ensure water and sewage effluent quality meet standards and operations are free of malfunctions e.g. water shortages, leaks and bursts, illegal connections and reduction of non revenue water.
• Shall in consultation with the Management team, formulate technical policies and develop strategies, procedures and processes for effective and efficient management of water and sewerage services operations.
• Shall develop or participate in the development of long and short term business plans and ensure achievement of agreed targets in line with the Company’s Strategic plan. .

The ideal candidate
• will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Water, Technology) or any other related field from a recognized University.
• Any post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
• Must have at least 7 years working experience in managing water/sewer infrastructure of which at least 3 must have been in management level.
• Be a Person of high integrity and meet the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya.
• Being member of a professional body will be an added advantage
• and must have the following desired skills and competencies:
1. Quality project management and professional skills,
2. good inter personal skills (Both with supervisors and subordinates),
3. Computer knowledge literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications,
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
5. Ability to work under pressure and extra hours, weekends and public holidays to meet targets and whenever called upon,
6. ability to manage conflicting priorities,
7. Leadership and Negotiation skills
Contract Terms: 3 years Renewable

GIS Analyst
Reporting to the Technical Manager, The GIS Analyst will be responsible for
• developing and maintaining Geographic Information System (GIS),
• establishing data collection, validating, updating and archiving procedures,
• validation and processing of geo – and attribute data, and
• conducting spatial and quantitative analyses in relation to asset management.
The ideal candidate will posses :-
• Degree in Geography, Engineering, Environmental and /or Spatial Planning,
• Two (2) years work experience
• and must have the following desired skills and competencies:
1. Good command of fourth generation languages (4GL) and object-orientated programming,
2. good knowledge of RDMS e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server etc,
3. experience with ArcGIS 9.2 + extensions,
4. GIS track record, including proficiency with standard GIS applications and data layers,
5. Good Knowledge of data issues, awareness of different coordinate systems,
6. Digital cartographic and map production skills,
7. use of Spatial Analyst extension,
8. experience with AutoCAD,
9. ability to develop and maintain data bases.
