The Asset Management Business offers asset management and investment advisory services to individuals and institutional clients. We currently have USD 1.1Billion in Assets under Management (AUM). Our product range includes: Unit trusts, pensions, investment planning, wealth management, off-shore investments, discretionary portfolio management, property investments and private equity.

As part of our growth strategy and to strengthen the team to achieve ambitious performance objectives, Britam Asset Managers, Uganda wishes to recruit experienced, dynamic and innovative individual to fill the following position in our  Uganda Offices. 

Job Purpose

To build strong research capability through analysis of market trends; to identify, review and execute investment opportunities in line with Britam Asset Managers Uganda’s strategic objectives. The job holder will be reporting to the Chief Investment Officer – Britam Asset Managers, Kenya.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess potential investment opportunities
  • Generate  ad hoc reports as necessary for presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Portfolio construction and rebalancing in line with the set guidelines and regulations
  • Review of Investment Policy Statements
  • Conduct desktop research on possible investment opportunities and give recommendations
  • Analyze due diligence outputs on potential investment opportunities in order to contribute to an investment decision/recommendation
  • Liaise with research analysts to provide high quality strategic advice, research and analysis  to our clients
  • Maintain a perspective on current and future market and economic conditions and industry investment trends in Uganda
  • Ensure investments are compliant to local laid regulations
  • Adhere to internal risk and compliance policy
  • Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the business strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard.

Experience and qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 2-4  years of investment related experience
  • Professional certification in Finance/Investments
