Reports To: Chief Manager – Commissioner’s Operation Office

Manager Strategic Initiative Job Purpose

Supporting the department’sagenda at manager level coordinating strategic initiatives, spearheading and harnessing innovations, facilitating the development and implementation of policiesand identifying specific opportunities that are aligned with KRA’s current and future strategic objectives

Manager Strategic Initiative Job Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, prioritize and successfully advocate for new opportunities to drive growth and improve revenue performance
  • Managing strategic and policy initiatives being undertaken by the department
  • Apply formal project management approaches by developing clear concepts, KPIs, and M&E frameworks for key initiatives
  • Keeping track of business trends and current and emerging taxpayer/stakeholder needs
  • Tracking relevant best practice strategies by stellar tax administrations or private sector organisations to develop an understanding of their underlying strategic focus
  • Identifying and allocating resources for implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Developing internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
  • Critically assess KRA’s ability to implement innovative initiatives including cultural, process and structural readiness
  • Planning multiple workflows and identifying ways to optimize timelines and reduce risk
  • Maintain effective communication to ensure open sharing of insights andideas
  • Formulating a practical strategic innovation framework for handling new ideas from various sources and providing a formal system for rewarding innovation
  • Promoting and leveraging diversity in the workplace to achieve best outcomes and a creative work environment

Qualifications For Manager Strategic Initiative Job 

Minimum academic requirement:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business/Commerce, Statistics or related fields
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years
