  • In keeping with our current business needs, Nestle East Africa Cluster has a vacancy for the position of Brand Manager reporting to the Marketing Manager East Africa Cluster.
  • Applications are hereby required from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position. The position will be based in Nestle Kenya Office in Industrial Area.

  • The Candidate will be expected to build a strong brand and generate strong brand building activities.

Brand Manager Job Key Responsibilities in Kenya

  • Develop brand plans and activity; liaise with country head/teams for execution under the guidance of the Marketing Manager;
  • Execute brand plans in both ATL execution plans in conjunction with the agency, BTL activities with assigned team or agency and as well plan and execute channel plans with sales teams;
  • Lead new product development innovation & launch management( i.e drive project team, create effective launch plans & channel strategies);
  • Manage the balance between disciplined on-time delivery, risk management and flexibility to explore new solutions;
  • Build accurate market forecasts for brand penetration initiatives based on sound scenario planning;
  • Use insights into media consumption and customer media behavior to inform channel selection and select appropriate media channels to meet the communication tasks and needs;
  • Deliver brand equity by executing activities that connect with consumers to deliver both short term volume growth (through promotions and activations) & long term brand value;
  • Minimize risk through detailed pricing analysis to fuel informed decision making and gain clarity around possible actions;
  • Provide promotional strategy recommendations, propose and review continuously SKU’s for key channels and customers;
  • Evaluate alternative investment scenarios to define the investment strategy, making the right choices in order to achieve both the brand equity and financial objectives;
  • Lead cross functional teams through timely measurement of results against internal & external Key Performance Indicators;
  • Track and monitor performance (Real Internal Growth (RIG), Organic Growth (OG), Marginal Contribution (MC), Operating Profit verses targets , manage the Product Fixed Marketing Expenses) dynamically as per agreed brand plans and quarterly review of PFME and activity calendar agreed with the Business Unit in order to achieve targets;
  • Ensure coordination and compliance with the brand plan on all brand related activates e.g. activations;
  • Manage and audit budgeted brand merchandise;

Qualifications for Brand Manager Jobs in Kenya

The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum skills and competencies;

  • A Bachelors degree in Marketing/ Business Management;
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in FMCG in Brand Marketing and Sales preferably with specific experiences as follows;
    Managed Brands/Products in Kenya;
  • Has led/actively participated in developing annual or rolling commercial plans for at least 2 cycles;
  • Has led/actively participated in consumer insight generation (U&A studies, product guidance tests )
  • Managed advertising & promotions budgets Above-the-Line advertising and communication including agency and creative evaluation ;
  • Managed advertising & promotions budgets Above-the-Line advertising and consumer strategies;
  • Must have strong leadership skills and ability to influence and federate across multiple cultures
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills and experience including fluency in power point
  • Basic understanding of a P&L statement
