We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Market Research and Consumer Insights Department within the Consumer Business Unit. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Reporting to the HOD the holder of the position will be responsible to lead and provide market research and customer insights expertise within the Research & Customer Insights team.

Research Manager Job Detailed Description

As a critical player in terms of input to segments and products teams to ensure brand/product decisions are driven by consumer insights in aneffort to maximize effectiveness and profitability

  • To be a champion of ‘consumer focus’ and ‘customer insights’within the business
  • Deliver insights that are fit for purpose within different consumer segments
  • Deliver insights that are strategic and that fit with the long term strategies of the company
  • Identify opportunities for growth size market opportunities
  • Embed and drive the understanding of consumer motivation and identification of opportunities that will unlock growth for the business
  • Driving segment-led brand/product building
  • Champion and drive world class consumer understanding and insightsthat will drive growth using a variety of best practice and processes
  • Putting the consumers at the heart of everything, actively inspireand influence Research and product teams to ensure they ingrain consumerfeedback/insights in the brand/product strategy and marketing activities tomaximize effectiveness and profitability
  • Develop and manage budgets
  • Driving learning into action from measurement and evaluation(M&E)
  • Understand the value of M&E to the research agenda and to the brand/products’ performance and its fit into the brand/product planning process. Identify and address any barriers to the implementation of M&E,ensure learning and experiences are shared and applied after each activity to drive growth
  • Champion the search and spin of knowledge, information and ideas that will make M&E a creative process that appeals to brand/product teams
  • Drive customer centric culture both with internal and external customers
  • Continually challenge the processes and procedures for current supply service levels/ challenging convention

 Requirements for Research Manager Jobs in Kenya

  • Degree from a recognized university preferably marketing and communication;
  • 4-5 years’ experience in a marketing and communication role aswell as understanding of media will be an added advantage;
  • Conversant with Safaricom/telecommunication data products as wellas full understanding of the consumer business unit strategy;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (articulate)coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills;
  • Proactive, confident, energetic and able to work under pressure with a positive attitude and good organization skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision making skills.
  • Relationships: Ability to establish, build and develop relationships with wide range of people both internally and externallyspecifically with the online community
    Decision making: Ability to liaise and communicate, influence and negotiate successfully with wide range of stakeholders
  • Integrity and resilience: Ability to operate and negotiate inpressured situations, a strong sense of resilience and the ability to representand maintain principled position in a sensitive situation
  • Communication: Ability to listen, understand others’ point of view and convey that understanding and respond in an impactful way with own perspective
  • Good organizational skills, proactive and self-drive for results
  • Supervisory skills and Resource management
