Purpose of the Position

  • Responsible for mobilization and ensuring effective data entry and management for the successful implementation of mental health and psychosocial support project.

Project Officer Job Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Undertake data entry, cleaning, analysis and interpretation
  • Ensure quality data screening packs are utilized throughout the project
  • Ensure quality data controls during data collection in the field and during data entry
  • Ensure updated records are maintained for all clients and security of confidential data is maintained
  • Ensure the stipulated research protocols and standard operating procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure frequent electronic data backups and questionnaire files are properly organized and stored
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of client’s data.

Mobilization

  • Mobilize community members and stakeholders to participate in project activities, including the allocation and scheduling of appointments for screening, assessment and post-assessments
  • Support the process of linking clients with CHWs and enumerators as required
  • Make preparations for GPM+ and individual PM+ Adaptation Meetings
  • Organize technical visits to monitor & review project progress
  • Ensure timely facilitation and payment of Community Health Workers(CHWs) and enumerators
  • Support Enumerators and CHWs to collect and accurately capture data
  • Manage clients appointments and assessments

Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting

  • Provide timely and accurate reports to project clinical supervisor for review
  • Share narrative report on observations made during general data management and share with the other project teams
  • Where appropriate, support communications to develop stories and materials for the promotion of project activities and outcomes
  • Monitor and communicate any challenges encountered in data collection tools and data collection processes
  • Document project activities, including a weekly activity report showing status of project from one week to the next

Engagement & Networking

  • Facilitate routine community dialogues
  • Work with other NGOs, CBOs , FBOs, Units, Committees and Groups within the ADP who are implementing in one way or another health interventions including MHPSS for synergy and achievement of bigger impact and sustainability

Qualification for Project Officer Job

Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sociology, community development, counseling psychology or related field
  • Diploma or certification in Information Technology or Information Systems is an added advantage
  • Must have working knowledge of Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS)
  • Have two years’ experience of progressively working in community development
  • Prior experience in research
  • Thorough working knowledge of data capture and manipulation
